West Los Angeles is a very affluent city. The central location makes
it a focus of development and progress, with several high rise office
buildings.

The University High School is one of the few old high schools in West

from buying land in the boundaries of LA. The Japanese community added
nurseries and orchards after they moved in, some are still around today.
The center of West LA used to be the City of Sawtelle, it was annexed
by Los Angeles in the twenties.
West Los Angeles has Mar Vista to the south, Rancho Park on the East,
Westwood on the north and
Santa Monica to the west.
