The weather is extremely pleasant, the schools are excellent, as are the air and water qualities, and we are in close proximity to large cities, airports, beaches, forests, skiing, lakes, wine country, shopping, and world class restaurants--what is not to love?

The first step in buying a home is getting a preapproved. When selecting a mortgage, be sure that you choose a program that is going to offer monthly payments that you will be comfortable with--for the long term. Many people have gotten into homes that they couldn't reall afford, with "exotic" loans. Then when the loan becomes fully amortized, they can't afford the payments and they put their house on the market. Some sell, some don't. Foreclosures are increasing steadily, and you don't want to be in that position. Be careful and be realistic. Second, writing an offer does not commit you to purchasing the home, nor is it guaranteed that the Seller will accept your offer. In either case, there are contingencies written into every boilerplate offer that allow you, the Buyer, to inspect the home, the property, the neighborhood, the tax bill, whether or not the home is in a flood zone, high fire danger area, whether or not you can obtain acceptable financing, insurance etc. BEFORE you fully commit to purchasing the home. 8. I will tell you the truth, even when the truth is unpleasant, or is not what you want to hear.

9. I will avail you to a network of qualified and trusted service providers, such as: stagers, interior decorators, architects, contractors, inspectors, lawyers, accountants, loan agents, escrow and title agents, home warranty, relocation, etc. that are tried and true.

10. I will be available to you long after the transaction is completed, to resolve problems, provide resources and help you however I am able into the future.
